Q. How many hotels accommodations are in Elliot Lake?
A. 2 – One is Hampton Inn and the other is Dunlop Lake Lodge
Q. Will I need a trail pass to participate in the actual retro-ride?
A. Yes, to participate in the actual ride itself, you will need a Seasonal OFSC pass OR a Multi-Day Pass. A multi-day pass (2 day) is CDN $90 or US $65 (approximate) and can be purchased online at https://www.ofsc.on.ca/
Q. Do I need a trail pass to socialize on Friday night or Saturday night?
A. No trail pass is required to attend social events
Q. Will there be a retro snowmobile show to park our sleds and show the public?
A. There is nothing officially organized, however, you can bring a sled and park it on display
Q. Will there be a Friday Evening Social?
A. The current plan is yes and it depends on how many riders will be available on Friday evening. A location will be TBA
Q. How old does my snowmobile need to be in order to participate in the event?
A. If you think its old, then its old. 2003 or earlier would be considered reasonable for a retro-ride.
Q. Can I attend the social events even though I have a newer snowmobile?
A. Yes, absolutely! All snowmobilers are welcome, since we all share the same common interest: Snowmobiling
Q. Is it possible the event will be cancelled?
A. We are at the mercy of mother nature. If a heat-wave moves into the region and the club is forced to close the trails due to deteriorating conditions, then it is possible. This website will have updates leading to those dates.
Q. Is this a one day event or a weekend event?
A. Although the main riding day is Saturday, there might be some riding opportunities on Friday for those who start their weekend early in Elliot Lake and on Sunday for those who stay the extra day.
Q. Is this a sponsored event?
A. No, this is strictly volunteer run.
Q. Is there a Facebook Page available for this event?
A. Yes, here is the link. You can request to join the FB Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/609414778469054
Q. Who can I contact for more information?
A. Dan Kachur (https://www.facebook.com/dannkachur/) OR Mike Budge (https://www.facebook.com/mike.budge.5)
Q. Should I RSVP the organizers to let them know I / we are planning on attending?
A. Yes, this is helpful, so we can coordinate expected attendee count, particularly with restaurants. Contact email: dan.kachur@sled-x.ca
Q. Is there a map of the planned riding area?
A. Yes, included here is a screenshot of the Elliot Lake loops. The main map is: https://ofsc.evtrails.com/#
